Description

Embark on an unforgettable adventure to the impressive Ausangate lagoons, one of the most fascinating landscapes in the Andes Mountains. This guided tour in Portuguese is designed for those seeking nature, culture, and authentic experiences in the sacred mountains of Peru. The journey starts early, at 4:00 a.m., with the departure from Cusco towards the village of Pacchanta, located at the foot of the imposing Nevado Ausangate, at an altitude of over 4,000 meters. On the way, you'll be able to admire the sunrise over the Andean mountains and valleys. Upon arrival, we'll enjoy a delicious breakfast prepared with local products, ideal for recharging before the hike. Then, we'll start the hike towards the famous 7 Ausangate lagoons: Pucacocha, Patacocha, Alcacocha, Comercocha, Orco Otorongo, China Otorongo, and Azul Cocha. Each one has unique colors – turquoise, emerald green, and gray tones – that reflect the purity of the glacial waters and the contrast with the snowy landscape. During the hike, the guide will explain the spiritual importance of these lakes to local communities and tell stories about the powerful spirit of Ausangate, considered a sacred mountain by the Andean peoples. The trail offers spectacular panoramic views of glaciers, herds of llamas and alpacas, and a deep connection with nature. The hike is about 3 to 4 hours of moderate walking on high mountain terrain, perfect for travelers who are in good physical shape and have already acclimatized to the altitude. After visiting the lagoons, we'll head back to Pacchanta, where a delicious Andean lunch will be served. Here, you'll have the option to relax in the village's natural hot springs (optional activity, with an additional cost paid on-site). The warm, mineral-rich waters are perfect for relieving fatigue and ending the day with tranquility and well-being. In the late afternoon, we'll head back to Cusco, arriving around 6:30 PM. This tour is a small group experience, with a maximum of 10 participants, ensuring more comfort, personalized attention, and an authentic experience. It's a unique opportunity to explore one of Peru's most impressive natural treasures, always accompanied by a specialized guide who speaks Portuguese.
