Description

Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel or a central meeting point in Cusco. After a quick safety briefing, start your scenic journey south toward the province of Canchis. Enjoy a beautiful early morning drive through small Andean towns such as Urcos and Sicuani, with stunning views of valleys and snow-capped peaks. Make a short stop in Sicuani for breakfast, restrooms, and acclimatization before continuing to Phinaya (4,700 m / 15,420 ft), a small highland village considered the gateway to Quelccaya Glacier. Upon arrival in Phinaya, take time to adjust to the altitude, stretch, and get ready for the hike. Your guide will explain the local ecosystem, the environmental importance of the glacier, and safety guidelines for the hike. Start your 3-hour trek toward the majestic Quelccaya Glacier. The trail winds through high Andean terrain, surrounded by colorful mountains, clear lagoons, and endless sky.
