Description

Embark on a full-day guided tour to Rainbow Mountain from Cusco. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch, and take in the breathtaking views of the ancient Ausangate and the Rainbow Mountain. Start your adventure early when your guide picks you up from your accommodation or meeting point from 3:30 AM to 4:00 AM approximetely. After a 2-hour drive, arrive at Cusipata, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast and take a moment to stretch your legs and snap some photos. There’s a small shop where you can purchase snacks or water before embarking on your hike to Rainbow Mountain. Continue on to the starting point. Your guide will take care of all the arrangements before you begin your hike. The trek to the famous Rainbow Mountain covers 2.1 miles (3.5 kilometers). The trail starts with an uphill climb, followed by some flat sections and gentle rises leading you to Rainbow Mountain, which sits at an elevation of 17,125 feet (5,220 meters). Here, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the ancient Ausangate Valleys and may even spot wild llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas along the way. After taking in the stunning scenery, return the same way you came or as an optional return stop by the Red Valley. Then, board the bus for the ride back to the restaurant. Once you arrive back in Cusipata, enjoy lunch before taking transportation back to central Cusco, where you’ll be dropped off near the Plaza de Armas at 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
