Description
Embark on a transformative, women-only trekking expedition organized by Inka Power Peru. Over five days, cross high Andean passes, descend into cloud forests, visit lesser-known archaeological sites, and share meals and stories around the campfire.
This trek is led and supported entirely by local women — guides, drivers, cooks, and muleteers — to promote economic opportunity and leadership for Andean women while delivering a safe, professional, and culturally rich adventure.
Day 1: Cusco to Pampa Japonesa
Begin with an early pickup from your hotel in Cusco. At the start of our hike, enjoy breakfast, then continue to Soraypampa (3,900 m). Trek 7 km to the high‑altitude camp at Pampa Japonesa (4,400 m) at the foot of the glacier. Take a short afternoon walk to Inkachiriaska Lake for photos. Enjoy dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 2: Incachiriaska Pass to Paucar Cancha
Start early and ascend to Incachiriaska Pass (4,850 m), the trek’s highest point. Enjoy panoramic mountain views before descending roughly 12 km through varied Andean landscapes to the archaeological site and camp at Paucar Cancha (3,133 m). Have dinner and rest.
Day 3: Inca Trail Segment to Piscacucho (km 82)
Trek along an original Inca Trail section with an ascent to Wayna Qente (2,700 m) and a visit to Llactapata (2,740 m). Continue to Piscacucho (km 82) to connect with the short Inca Trail. Enjoy an evening campfire and overnight.
Day 4: Short Inca Trail Segment to the Archaeological Citadel
Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station and ride to the trailhead. Hike approximately 12 km with stops at Chachabamba and Wiñay Wayna, arriving at the archaeological citadel at sunset. Take a bus down to the nearby town for the night.
Day 5: Sunrise Visit and Return to Cusco
Take an early shuttle to the archaeological site for sunrise and a guided tour focused on history and architecture. Optional additional mountain hike available for pre-booked guests. Return to Cusco in the evening.
