Description
The excursion starts with the pick up at your hotel, a staff will pick you up and transfer you to the vehicle that will take you to the Bosque de Piedras.
Transfer to Cumbemayo, on the way we will visit Bellavista, Layzon, the Forest Park, until arriving at Cumbe Mayo, 20 km southwest of the city of Cajamarca (45 minutes by car approximately).
Discovered in 1937, the complex is surrounded by a fantastic forest of stones that seems to reproduce the silhouette of pious friars (which is why they are familiarly called 'frailones'). Other highlights include:
The Aqueduct, singular work of hydraulic engineering the most important of pre-Columbian America, dating from the Cajamarca culture (1000 BC), is carved in volcanic rock, starting at an altitude of 3555 meters above sea level and a distance of 9 km.
The so-called Sanctuary, a cliff with the appearance of a gigantic human head and the caves in which there are engravings, this place for some researchers would have been used to make sacrifices.
You will make the complete tour, the Stone Forest, the Sanctuary, the Aqueduct, the Stone of Sacrifice and the Mirador de Bellavista.
After the tour in the forest of stones, we will transfer you to the city of Cajamarca, to the Plaza de Armas, where the tour ends.
