Description

Embark on a 4-day trek to Choquequirao, a remote Inca city that's been called the 'sister' of Machu Picchu. Hike through the Andes, passing through the Apurimac Valley, and spend the night in local hostels. Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Chiquisca After being picked up from your hotel in Cusco, drive to San Pedro de Cachora. Begin your trek to Choquequirao. After a 3-hour hike, reach the Capulliyoq viewpoint, which offers panoramic views of the Apurimac River and the ruins of Choquequirao. Descend to Chiquisca and enjoy lunch and dinner. Spend the night in a local hostel. Day 2: Chiquisca – Santa Rosa – Marampata – Choquequirao After breakfast, continue your trek to Choquequirao. Stop in Santa Rosa for lunch and in Marampata to enjoy the views from its famous panoramic viewpoint. Spend the night in a hostel in Marampata. Day 3: Choquequirao After breakfast, walk for 1.5 hours to the ruins of Choquequirao. Known as the 'sister' of Machu Picchu, the archaeological site still preserves remains of temples, warehouses, and other public spaces. In the afternoon, return to Marampata, where you'll have dinner and spend the night. Day 4: Choquequirao – Playa Rosalina – Capulliyoq– Cusco After breakfast, walk back to Capulliyoq. Stop at Playa Rosalina and then continue to Chikiska. Once there, have lunch and continue to the Apurimac Valley. Reach Capulliyoq, where a vehicle will take you back to Cusco.
