Description
Between 4:30 AM and 5:10 AM, our team will pick you up from your hotel to begin our journey southwest for 2 hours. Along the way, we will explore the picturesque Pomacanchi, Acopia, Asnaqocha, and Pampamarca or Tungasuca Lakes, where we will enjoy a peaceful moment by the waters. We will continue our journey and make a stop near the town of Yanaoca to visit the small Pabellones Volcano.
Next, we will reach the Apurimac River, where the impressive Inca Suspension Bridge awaits us, woven by hand with plant fibers (Ichu) over the river waters in the district of Quehue. This bridge dates back to the Inca period and is annually renovated and maintained by the local inhabitants of the surrounding four communities.
On our way back to Cusco, we will make the last stop at the Colonial Inca Bridge of Checacupe, allowing you to compare the features of both bridges and appreciate the architectural differences. We will conclude the tour around 5:00 PM, to just a block away from the Plaza de Armas.
