Description

We begin our tour with pick-up at your hotel at 8:00 and 8:40 a.m. APROX, and depart for the Sacred Valley, starting in the picturesque village of Chinchero. There, we will visit a traditional textile center, where we will learn about the ancestral techniques of Andean weaving, from spinning and natural dyeing to the production of colorful handmade garments. This is an ideal place to appreciate local art and learn about the culture and traditions of the Quechua communities. Afterwards, we will head to Moray, a fascinating archaeological area known for its huge circular terraces. This ancient Inca agricultural laboratory is unique, as its terraces were designed to experiment with different altitudes and climates, which allowed the Incas to improve their crops. It is a place full of history, which offers us a deep insight into the advanced agricultural techniques of the Incas. Our next stop will be the Maras Salt Flats, an impressive site composed of thousands of small salt pools on a mountainside. These salt pans have been exploited since pre-Inca times, and the panoramic views they offer are simply spectacular. Here you can learn about the traditional salt extraction process that is still carried out today, which makes this place a point of great cultural interest. After enjoying these two wonderful destinations, we will return to Cusco around 2:30 pm. The tour will conclude, leaving free time for you to continue exploring the city or to rest. This half-day tour will give you an unforgettable experience of the rich history and culture of the Sacred Valley region.
