Description

Get ready for an unforgettable day full of history, mystery, and living culture in the heart of the Peruvian desert. This experience will take you from the mystical desert setting to the skies of Nazca, where the secrets of one of the world's most enigmatic civilizations await you. We'll start early in the morning, when our private transport picks you up and we head south. The trip passes through an impressive landscape of dunes, desert pampas, and small agricultural oases, giving you a first glimpse of the unique beauty of the Peruvian coastal desert. After an hour and a half, you'll arrive at the María Reiche Aerodrome, where you'll get ready for the long-awaited flight over the Nazca Lines. After a short safety briefing, you'll board a light plane with panoramic windows. While the pilot makes gentle turns, you'll clearly see the figures drawn in the sand: the Hummingbird, the Monkey, the Spider, the Condor, the Astronaut, and many more. From the air, these lines take on a magical dimension: they're large, precise, and mysteriously aligned, a legacy still unsolved. After landing, the adventure continues on dry land with a visit to the Cantalloc Aqueducts. This ancient underground hydraulic network, built by the Nazcas over a thousand years ago, still works and supplies local communities. You'll walk among its characteristic spiral canals while discovering how this civilization mastered the art of making the desert bloom. After lunch, we'll visit a traditional ceramic craft workshop, where a local family keeps the ancient techniques of Nasca pottery alive. They'll show you how they make pieces with natural pigments and symbolic motifs. You can join in a short hands-on demo or just watch and learn from these tradition keepers. Before heading back, we'll stop at the Nazca Lines Viewpoint, an elevated metal tower from which you can see the Tree and Hands figures from the ground. It's an excellent complement to the flyover, and it'll let you appreciate how these lines integrate into the landscape from another perspective. Finally, we'll start the return trip, as the sun sets over the desert. We'll arrive at the starting point around 4:00 p.m., with unforgettable memories of a day rich in culture, history, and ancestral mystery.
