Description
Enjoy a complete and unforgettable experience from Ica to Nazca, combining the exciting flight over the Nazca Lines with an archaeological and cultural route through the main historical sites of this ancient civilization. We'll pick you up from your accommodation in Ica in the morning to start the trip to the city of Nazca.
Upon arrival, we'll head to the Maria Reiche Aerodrome. There, you'll get a briefing before boarding the plane. For about 35 minutes, you'll fly over 20 figures drawn in the desert by the Nazca culture over 1,500 years ago. From the air, you'll see symbols like the Hummingbird, the Monkey, the Astronaut, the Condor, the Spider, and more. The pilot will maneuver on both sides so that all passengers can clearly see the lines, with panoramic windows and narration in Spanish and English.
After the flight, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant in the city of Nazca (lunch not included), where you can enjoy the regional cuisine. Then, we'll start the archaeological tour on land with a visit to the Cantalloc aqueducts, a pre-Inca hydraulic system that's still in operation. We'll continue to Cahuachi, the great adobe ceremonial city, and the ruins of Los Paredones, the Inca administrative center of the area.
The cultural experience is complemented by a visit to two traditional workshops: one for handmade ceramics, where you'll learn about the ancestral process of creating and painting Nazca pieces, and another textile workshop, where local artisans will show you how the fabrics and natural dyes used by the Nazca culture were made.
At the end of the tour, we'll head back to Ica, wrapping up a day packed with history, art, culture, and mystery in one of the most iconic destinations in southern Peru.
