Description
Embark on a full-day adventure to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, the largest natural reserve in the Peruvian Amazon. Discover the rich biodiversity of the area, including the iconic pink dolphin, jaguars, monkeys, and a vast variety of birds and plants.
Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Iquitos and head to Nauta, the gateway to the Peruvian Amazon. From there, navigate the Marañón River, where, with a bit of luck, you may witness the mesmerizing dance of the elusive pink and gray dolphins in their natural habitat.
Continue to the Yarapa River, where you will have the chance to swim in the Amazon waters, surrounded by pristine nature. Enjoy a traditional lunch on board, tasting the typical cuisine of the Peruvian Amazon while marveling at the biodiversity of the jungle.
With a bit of luck, spot playful monkeys, exotic birds, and an incredible variety of fish, including the famous piranhas. Try your hand at piranha fishing using a handmade rod. Take a walk through the Amazon jungle and discover the towering Lupuna Blanca, a massive tree over 70 meters high and centuries old.
This natural giant stands as a guardian of biodiversity, surrounded by lush vegetation and fascinating wildlife. Its imposing trunk invites a moment to pause, contemplate its grandeur, and learn about its significance in the Amazonian worldview.
At the end of the day, return by boat to Nauta and continue by road to Iquitos, where you will be dropped off just one block from the historic Plaza de Armas.
