Description
Ready for 3 days of jaw-dropping landscapes, ancient mysteries, and pure adventure? This expertly curated journey from Lima packs in the best of southern Peru - from colonial secrets and coastal wildlife to adrenaline dunes and sky-high wonders. Buckle up for the desert ride of your life.
DAY 1: Lima - Paracas
Your adventure kicks off with an early morning pickup in Lima. Settle into a spacious Peru Hop luxury bus and stay connected with high-speed onboard Wi-Fi as you cruise the scenic coast. First stop? Mirasur Bread Ovens, where you’ll savor some of the freshest, flakiest bread in Peru - baked with centuries of tradition.
Next, dive into Peru’s hidden history at Hacienda San José in Chincha. This majestic colonial estate is more than a pretty face: it hides a haunting underground world. Explore the labyrinth of tunnels once used to smuggle enslaved people from the coast - a raw and powerful chapter of Afro-Peruvian heritage.
By early afternoon, you’ll arrive in the laid-back beach town of Paracas. The rest of the day is yours - relax by the coast, ask your guide about the Golden Shadows trek, or just sip a pisco sour at sunset. Overnight stay in Paracas (not included).
Day 2: Paracas - Huacachina
Start the morning with a splash - literally. Hop aboard a speedboat for a 2-hour tour of the Ballestas Islands, often called “The Poor Man’s Galápagos.” Get up close with penguins, sea lions, and seabirds, all in their natural Pacific habitat.
Afterward, enjoy a guided visit through Paracas National Reserve, where the desert dramatically kisses the ocean. This surreal landscape of red cliffs and blue waters is a photographer’s dream.
By early afternoon, continue to the legendary Huacachina Oasis - a palm-fringed desert lagoon straight out of a movie. After lunch (not included), brace yourself for a high-octane dune buggy ride through some of South America’s tallest sand dunes. You’ll also try sandboarding, a favorite thrill for adventurous souls.
Evening is yours to unwind under the stars. Overnight stay in Huacachina (not included).
Day 3: Huacachina - Nazca - Lima
Bright and early, board a comfortable shuttle from Huacachina to Nazca. Upon arrival, it’s straight to Nazca Airport for the highlight of the trip: a flight over the Nazca Lines. These enormous geoglyphs - etched into the desert floor over 1,500 years ago - remain one of the world’s greatest archaeological mysteries. Monkeys, hummingbirds, and geometric designs come to life from above!
After your flight, enjoy some free time in Nazca to grab lunch or visit the remarkable Cantalloc aqueducts, an ancient water system still in use today.
Finally, relax aboard your Peru Hop luxury bus on the return drive to Lima, arriving back at your hotel around 11:45 PM - tired but transformed.
