Description

Embark on an unforgettable adventure through Peru’s ancient wonders and stunning desert landscapes. This full-day takes you to the Nazca Lines, one of the world's greatest mysteries, and to the breathtaking Huacachina Oasis for an adrenaline-filled desert experience. 03:00 a.m. – Departure from Lima Start your journey with a private pick-up from your hotel and head south towards Nazca, enjoying the early morning tranquility. Maria Reiche Museum Arriving in Nazca, the first stop is the Maria Reiche Museum. Here, you’ll learn about Maria Reiche, the German mathematician and archaeologist who dedicated her life to studying and preserving the Nazca Lines. The museum provides fascinating insights into the significance of these ancient geoglyphs, their possible astronomical meanings, and the groundbreaking work of Reiche in protecting them. Nazca Lines Viewpoint (Mirador) Next, you’ll visit the Nazca Lines Viewpoint where you can observe some of the most iconic figures of the geoglyphs, including the Tree and Hands. These giant figures, created between 500 B.C. and 500 A.D., are a true mystery of the ancient world. Their purpose remains unknown, and their sheer scale can only be appreciated from a height. Cantalloc Aqueducts Continue to the Cantalloc Aqueducts, an extraordinary system of subterranean channels built by the Nazca civilization. These aqueducts were used for irrigation and are still functioning today, providing water to the desert. The engineering behind these aqueducts is a testament to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the Nazca people. Los Paredones (Optional) If you’re not opting for the Nazca Lines overflight, visit Los Paredones, an Inca archaeological site. This ancient Inca administrative center features large stone walls and platforms, and offers a glimpse into the region’s role within the Inca Empire. Free Time for Lunch After exploring Nazca, enjoy a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant. Here, you can try regional dishes, such as Ceviche or Arroz con Pollo. 02:00 p.m. – Departure to Huacachina In the afternoon, head to Huacachina Oasis, a stunning desert oasis surrounded by towering dunes. The journey takes about 2.5 hours, providing an opportunity to relax and admire the views. Arrive at the picturesque Huacachina Oasis, where lush palm trees surround a serene lagoon, offering a peaceful contrast to the surrounding desert landscape. This oasis, often called the 'oasis of America,' is a popular spot for adventure and relaxation. Optional: Dune Buggy & Sandboarding (Additional Cost) For thrill-seekers, take a ride on the dune buggies through the massive sand dunes. Feel the adrenaline rush as you zip across the desert, and then try sandboarding down the steep dunes. This thrilling adventure is a highlight for many visitors. 06:00 p.m. – Departure to Lima After a thrilling desert experience, head back to Lima, where you'll return to your hotel by 10:30 p.m..
