Description

Begin your adventure with an early pickup from your accommodation in Urubamba and travel through the beautiful Andean countryside toward the village of Mollepata, where the journey into the high mountains begins. After arrival in Mollepata, enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast to recharge and prepare for the hike. From there, continue by vehicle to Soraypampa, located at 3,900 meters (12,795 ft) above sea level, the starting point of the trek. From Soraypampa, begin a moderate hike of approximately 1.5 hours toward the breathtaking Humantay Lake, reaching an altitude of 4,200 meters (13,780 ft). The trail includes some steep sections but rewards hikers with spectacular views of the Salkantay Glacier and the surrounding mountain landscapes. Along the way, you’ll have time to rest, take photos, and enjoy the pure mountain air. Upon reaching Humantay Lake, be amazed by its vibrant turquoise waters, fed by the glaciers above. Spend time exploring the area, relaxing by the lakeshore, and connecting with the peaceful energy of this iconic Andean destination. After enjoying the lake, begin the descent back to Soraypampa, an easier walk that takes around one hour. From there, return by transport to Mollepata, where a delicious local lunch awaits. Finally, continue the journey to the city of Cusco, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation, concluding a day filled with adventure, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable memories.
