Description
Uros and Taquile Catamaran Tour with Dances – Full Day
Enjoy an unforgettable experience sailing on our fast catamaran on majestic Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. The tour kicks off with a pick-up from your hotel in Puno (around 7:15 a.m.) and heads to the main port. There, your guide and captain will welcome you before you embark on this unique cultural journey.
The Floating Islands of the Uros
Our first stop will be the Floating Islands of the Uros, located at 3,812 m above sea level. Here, you'll get to know the life of a local family, who'll show you how they build their islands with the totora plant and how they keep their ancestral traditions alive.
You can learn about their artisanal fishing, their sustainable way of life, and enjoy a short optional ride in a totora boat.
The Uros are a people who live in harmony with the lake, preserving ancient techniques that will transport you to a completely different world.
Taquile Island
We'll continue our journey across the lake until we reach Taquile Island, at 3,905 m above sea level. Once we disembark, we'll start a scenic walk along its cobbled paths, surrounded by cultivation terraces and spectacular views of Lake Titicaca.
You'll be welcomed by local families with a colorful show of traditional dances and Andean music, a living expression of their cultural identity.
You'll discover their famous textile art, which UNESCO has declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity for its value and authenticity.
A Taquile family will prepare a traditional lunch for you, made with fresh local products. Then you'll have some free time to explore, take photos, or buy unique handmade crafts.
Finally, we'll board our catamaran again to head back to Puno, enjoying the highland landscape along the way. We'll arrive at the port around 4:00 p.m., wrapping up a day packed with culture, tradition, and nature.
