Description
Start your day by traveling from Cusco to the heart of the Sacred Valley to discover a unique combination of Inca history and living Andean culture. The first stop is the archaeological complex of Chinchero, where you'll discover its ancient agricultural terraces and learn about their importance within the Tawantinsuyo agricultural system. Then we'll visit a local family from the village, who'll welcome you into their home to show you the traditional weaving process, the use of natural dyes, and the symbolism they still preserve in each Andean design.
We'll continue to Moray, one of the most enigmatic sites of Inca engineering, considered an agricultural laboratory due to its circular terraces and different microclimates. Later, we'll arrive at the famous Salt Mines of Maras, an impressive set of thousands of salt ponds that have been exploited by hand since pre-Inca times.
Later, we'll head to Urubamba, where you'll enjoy a traditional buffet lunch before continuing to the impressive archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. Here you'll discover its temples, canals, and monumental walls, symbols of advanced Inca architectural knowledge. To end the day, we'll visit the ancient citadel of Pisac, one of the largest archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley, with impressive terraces and ceremonial neighborhoods that will offer you unforgettable views.
After a day full of culture, history, and spectacular landscapes, we'll head back to Cusco in the late afternoon.
