The Misti volcano (5825M) is just 23 km northeast of Arequipa, known as the white city of Peru. Our company offers this alternative trek for adventurous people looking to trek to a base camp on the slopes of an active volcano. Volcan Misti Trekking includes very beautiful landscape of the high area, towns and contrasting countryside around Arequipa. This short hike on the slopes of the Misti volcano is available every day: the uphill hike is not technical, but it is difficult thanks to the altitude and it all depends on the physical condition of each participant to reach as high as possible in 2H30M maximum time. It is recommended to do this hike in the afternoon to enjoy the sunset over Arequipa, but only during the dry season (April to December), but during the rainy season it will be better to try it in the morning.
