Description
Begin your tour with a visit to the 'Bodega El Catador,' an artisanal winery. Learn about the traditional process of making pisco while sampling its various types. Discover why this winery has won national awards for its unique products like the semi-prepared Pisco Sour and the fine Pisco Cream.
Continue to the 'Bodega Lazo,' where you’ll taste a variety of wines and piscos. The main attractions here are the Piscos, Vinos, and Cachinas. Explore the authentic 16th and 17th-century Spanish cellar, which also houses a rustic museum. See a collection of artifacts, including mummified trophy heads, ceramics, jewelry, remnants of pre-Hispanic cultures, weapons from various eras, paintings, and taxidermy.
Next, visit the 'Bodega Tacama,' where you’ll start by admiring the bell tower, offering a panoramic view of the vineyards. Learn about the different instruments used in the production of pisco and wines. If visiting on a Monday, you’ll go to the 'Bodega Caravedo,' a similar location.
See the distillation room with its stills and jars. The Tacama vineyard is located in one of the oldest haciendas in the valley, built in the 16th century with colonial architecture. It produces high-quality wines and piscos. The vineyard covers 180 hectares in the Ica Valley, a fertile oasis surrounded by deserts, 300 km from Lima and 400 meters above sea level. It is one of the most important in the country.
After exploring the renowned vineyards of Ica and learning about the traditional wine and pisco-making process, take a short walk through the historic center of the city. During this stroll, admire the main streets, monuments, and characteristic architecture that reflects the Ica cultural heritage.
