Description

Embark on a 15-day adventure in the Amazon Rainforest and immerse yourself in the culture of the Matsés people. Participate in traditional activities such as farming, fishing, and jungle exploration. DAY 1: Arrival in your hometown • Transfer from your hotel or airport in Iquitos to the 42nd Air Group of the Peruvian Air Force. • Approximately one-hour flight by small plane or seaplane to the border community of Angamos, located on the border with Brazil. • Warm welcome by members of the Matsés community. • Accommodation and overnight stay in Angamos. DAYS 2-13: Total Immersion in Matsés Culture Sailing to the Matsés Reserve • Logistical preparation and loading of supplies. • Boat trip along unspoiled Amazonian routes. Immersion in Matsés Life: • Farming and Harvesting: Participate in traditional agricultural work. • Fire Stories: Listen to the stories of the elders around the communal fire. • Jungle Explorations: Daytime walks in search of birds, monkeys, and native flora. • Night Safari: Sightings of alligators, snakes, and other secrets of the night. • Ancestral Wisdom: Learn about the use of medicinal plants and survival techniques. • Traditional Fishing: Learn to fish for piranhas using native methods. • Wildlife Observation from Canoes: Glide down rivers in search of wildlife. • Optional Ceremonies: Sacred Tobacco Ritual 'Nënë' or Kambô Ceremony, Amazonian Frog Medicine (optional and guided by a Matsés Master). • Crafts and Barter: Opportunity to purchase or exchange authentic pieces, crafts, amulets, and traditional weapons. DAY 14: Overnight in Angamos • Return from the reserve. • Settling in and resting in the community of Angamos. DAY 15: Return to Civilization • One-hour return flight by small plane or seaplane from the community of Angamos, on the border with Brazil, to the city of Iquitos.
