Description
This tour is a cultural experience. Sailing Lake Titicaca, we'll find Luquina Chico, a small Aymara community located southeast of the city of Puno, about an hour and a half from the port. An adventure guaranteed, a landscape where the blue sky and clouds are reflected in the water, making a fabulous contrast with the green hills. The families of Luquina received training to provide accommodation and food services to receive visitors. The accommodation is nice, with rooms that have beautiful views of the lake and a private bathroom with shower. Almost all the houses have a small corral next to them with domestic animals like donkeys, pigs, sheep, and chickens that live harmoniously in this beautiful place. The experience of sailing on Lake Titicaca in a rustic and traditional way is incredible, and you can do it on handmade sailboats.
We'll pick you up early in the morning to take you to the port and from there, we'll head towards the Uros floating islands. You'll visit the Uros floating islands and then continue to Taquile Island, a Quechua village organized in a particular way with Inca moral codes and recognized for its textile art. After a pleasant lunch based on local products, we'll leave for Luquina. Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by a host family who will take care of you. Say goodbye to the group guide and you'll receive instructions to pick you up the next day.
You'll have an afternoon of cultural exchange, participating in community tasks like cooking, helping with farm chores, and listening to local stories.
The next day after breakfast, you can take a ride in the handmade sailboats, collect medicinal plants and learn about their uses and applications, and participate in the family's daily activities.
