Description
'Uncover the wild beauty of Peru’s coast and desert on this epic 2-day trip from Lima. From sea lions and penguins to sandboarding at a desert oasis and sipping world-class pisco, this experience blends wildlife, adrenaline, and culture perfect for curious travelers and thrill-seekers alike.
Day 1: Lima – Paracas (Ballestas Islands + Vineyard) – Huacachina
Your journey begins early in the morning with a comfortable pickup from your hotel or designated meeting point in Lima. Travel south along the scenic Pacific Coast aboard a spacious Peru Hop luxury bus, enjoying panoramic views on the 4-hour drive to Paracas, and stay connected with high-speed onboard Wi-Fi.
Upon arrival, board a speedboat for a 2-hour tour of the Ballestas Islands, often called “the poor man’s Galápagos.” Cruise past the mysterious Candelabra geoglyph etched into the desert cliffs before reaching the islands. Along the way, spot sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and flocks of seabirds, and if you're lucky, dolphins too. Your guide will share insights into the unique ecosystem and wildlife.
After returning to shore, continue to a traditional pisco vineyard in the Ica region. Here, you’ll learn how Peru’s iconic spirit is made, from grape cultivation to fermentation and distillation, and enjoy a guided tasting of different artisanal pisco varieties.
From the vineyard, continue to the dramatic landscapes of Huacachina, the only natural desert oasis in South America. Framed by massive dunes, this surreal palm-lined lagoon is a postcard come to life.
Buckle up for an adrenaline-filled dune buggy ride across the towering dunes, followed by sandboarding down the slopes, an unforgettable thrill set against breathtaking desert scenery.
After the adventure, check into your hotel and enjoy the evening at your own pace: wander the oasis, relax by the lagoon, or watch the sun set over the dunes.
Day 2: Huacachina – Lima
Wake up surrounded by desert tranquility. Spend your morning enjoying the oasis at your leisure, relax by the pool, stroll the town, or take photos of the stunning dunes, the choice is yours.
Finally, board the return transport to Lima in the late afternoon. Enjoy a comfortable ride back through the desert and coastal scenery before being dropped off at your hotel or original pickup point - completing a journey that combines Peru’s natural wonders, cultural flavors, and unforgettable adventure.'
