Description
We kick off our adventure by picking up each passenger from their hotel or Airbnb at 9:00 am or 2:00 pm, depending on the chosen time. Get ready for an unforgettable experience in Lima!
1. Love Park:
Our first stop will be the Parque del Amor in Miraflores. Opened in 1993, it's famous for the sculpture 'El Beso' by Peruvian artist Víctor Delfín. This park is a perfect spot to enjoy stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and is popular with couples and tourists.
2. Huaca Pucllana (sightseeing):
We'll continue with a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca pyramid built between the 4th and 7th centuries AD by the Lima Culture. This ancient ceremonial and administrative center offers a fascinating glimpse into the city's pre-Hispanic history.
3. Plaza San Martín:
In the historic center, we'll visit Plaza San Martín, dedicated to the liberator José de San Martín and surrounded by iconic buildings, such as the Gran Hotel Bolívar and the Teatro Colón. Here, you'll feel the splendor of Lima of yesteryear while admiring its historic architecture.
4. La Merced Church and Lima's Main Square:
Then, we'll visit the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Merced, built in the 16th century. Then, we'll head to Plaza de Armas, or Plaza Mayor, founded in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro. This is the heart of Lima, where you'll find the Cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Archbishop's Palace, alongside colonial houses with carved balconies that showcase the Peruvian colonial architectural style.
5. Banco de Reserva del Perú:
Founded in 1922, the Central Bank of Peru houses an art collection and a museum with pre-Columbian treasures. Here, you'll admire ceramics, gold, and textiles from various ancient cultures, all in a building that stands out for its architecture.
6. Church of San Francisco and Catacombs:
This 17th-century baroque complex is one of the most impressive in Lima. The Church of San Francisco is famous for its interior decoration and its library of ancient books. We'll visit its catacombs, an underground labyrinth that was used as a cemetery in colonial times, with the remains of more than 70,000 people, offering a unique and overwhelming experience.
7. Heading back to the hotel:
At the end of the tour, we'll head back to your hotel, wrapping up a day packed with history and culture.
