Description

Tour Start – Pickup from Cusco The day begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco. From there, we will take you in a private vehicle to the Ollantaytambo train station, along a scenic route through the Sacred Valley. During the journey, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of mountains, rivers, and farmland – the perfect introduction to what’s to come. Train Ride to Aguas Calientes In Ollantaytambo, you will board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. The journey lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, passing through spectacular Andean landscapes: fertile valleys, crystal-clear rivers, and, if the weather allows, towering snow-capped peaks on the horizon. Arrival in Aguas Calientes and Bus to Machu Picchu Upon arrival, a local guide will be waiting to escort you to the bus station. From there, you’ll take a 30-minute bus ride along a winding road to the entrance of the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary. Guided Tour of Machu Picchu Once inside the archaeological site, you’ll enjoy a guided tour lasting approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, covering the most iconic points of the citadel: the Temple of the Sun, the Main Plaza, agricultural terraces, and observation towers, among others. Your guide will not only share the fascinating history, myths, and secrets of the site but will also act as your photographer, helping you capture memorable photos of this magical place. Return to Aguas Calientes and Free Time After exploring Machu Picchu, you will return to Aguas Calientes by bus. There, you will have free time to explore the local artisan market, buy souvenirs, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the town surrounded by mountains. Return Journey to Cusco Next, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, a private transfer will be waiting to take you back to Cusco. This last stretch of the journey is ideal for relaxing and reflecting on the day’s experience. You will arrive in Cusco in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on the train schedule.
