Description

Day 1 The adventure begins early. We meet at the Plaza de Armas and set off on our adventure. First, we will drive for approximately 6 hours through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where the view of the Andes Mountains transforms into a jungle before your eyes. Around noon, we'll arrive at the hot springs of Santa Teresa, a town famous for its lush vegetation. We'll have lunch there before continuing to the Hydroelectric Power Plant, the last bus stop. You will hike for the next 3 hours around the mountains of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu to reach Aguas Calientes and rest. We, as your tour operator, will arrange your accommodation. - Altitude: Starts at 3,400 m (Cusco) and ends at 1,550 m (Santa Teresa). - Distance traveled: Approx. 250 kilometers by car. - Main sites visited: Sacred Valley of the Incas, Santa Teresa, Hydroelectric Power Plant, Aguas Calientes. Day 2 This day, you will visit the archaeological wonder of Machu Picchu. You have two options to get there: you can take a round-trip bus (optional) for $24 USD, or you can hike for approximately 2 hours. You will have an experienced guide who will explain the history of Machu Picchu for 2 hours. Afterward, you will have free time. You will hike back to the Hydroelectric Power Plant for approximately 2:30 hours to catch the bus back to Cusco at 2:00 PM.
