Description

Day 1: Exploration of the Tambopata National Reserve - Sandoval Lake - Caiman Search One of our representatives will be waiting for you upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado. We will immediately head to the Sandoval Lake port, which is a 45-minute boat ride away. Upon arrival, we will take a walk through a tropical forest where the importance of the site we are visiting will be explained. As we progress, we will observe natural bamboo, the habitat of monkeys, sloths, and macaws. After reaching the Sandoval port, we will board a rowing boat to our lodge, where you will be assigned your respective rooms. After a short rest, we will take a boat to watch the sunset in the Amazon jungle, accompanied by monkeys and bats. We will then return to the lodge to search for caimans. Finally, we will return to the lodge for dinner and rest. Day 2: Breathing Tambopata - Otter Search - Night Walk - Parrot Clay Lick in Palm Trees Early in the morning, we will head to the macaw clay lick by boat for approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival, we will observe various parrots and macaws feeding on tree bark rich in minerals; dozens of blue, yellow, and red macaws take turns eating minerals from dead palm trees or those that nest them. Afterward, we will have the opportunity to see giant otters at the right time. Later, we will return to the lodge to enjoy a well-deserved breakfast. After some time, we will take a walk through the jungle, observing giant trees emblematic of the Amazon such as the Ceiba (Lopuna), Ironwood (Chihuahuaco), and Brazil Nut (Castaña), while our guide explains how this product is harvested. Following this experience, we will return to the lodge at noon for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a beautiful sunset. Finally, we will have dinner and rest. Day 3: Madre de Dios River - Visit to Monkey Island Our last day will start very early with breakfast. We will then board a boat to Monkey Island where we can see three species: white capuchin monkeys, black capuchin monkeys, and squirrel monkeys. Finally, we will return to Puerto Maldonado city and be taken to the airport or bus station.
