Description
Uros, located 8 km from the city of Puno. This excursion allows us to visit one of the most important attractions of the bay of Puno on Lake Titicaca, an ancient civilization that lives among the reeds or totora reeds, an Aymara-speaking community that still maintains its skills in fishing, bird hunting, and egg gathering.
The men are skilled builders and drivers of totora rafts, and the women are skilled embroiderers of rugs. Taquile is a natural island blessed by nature, located 35 km from the city of Puno. The inhabitants of this island are especially known for their fine textiles, which are among the finest Peruvian handicrafts. On the island, travelers are greeted by a spectacular view of the lake and a simple stone archway that welcomes visitors. In addition, the island of Taquile has beautiful landscapes and archaeological sites, but its most important treasure is its Quechua people, who are known for their hospitality and warmth toward visitors.
