Description

We will begin with a pickup from your hotel or an agreed-upon meeting point in Cusco or the Sacred Valley area around 8AM. Travel in a comfortable, private van with a driver and guide. First, we will drive around 45 minutes to Chinchero to visit their Incan ruins. From here, we will drive 15 minutes for a Pachamanca lunch near the lagoon. You will be greeted with a local Andean dance and welcome song. You will learn about the history of the area, touch and wear some of the local clothing, see how they make their Pachamanca oven (also known as the 'earth oven'), and experience the Pachamanca cooking process. The meal will include 4-5 meats and 4-5 local vegetables. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Opt for a beverage add-on which will include local beer and pisco. Take any leftover beverages with you. They will also show you their local methods for dyes and making textiles. You will have the opportunity to pickup souvenirs at their textile shop. When the lunch is finished, continue on your journey to the ancient agricultural site of Moray. Then, visit the Maras Salt Mines. Lastly, visit the town of Ollantaytambo and tour their Incan citadel. Expect to spend around 1 hour at each site. When finished in Ollantaytambo, we will drive back to your hotel or an agreed-upon drop-off point.
