Description
DAY 1
Travelers will be met at the airport or bus station and transferred to the lodge. After a brief rest, you will take a one-hour introductory walk through the rainforest, guided by a local expert who will take you on a tour of the area's trails. After lunch, we will depart around 3:30 p.m. in a boat on the Tambopata River to enjoy the beautiful colors of the sunset. Afterwards, we will look for white caimans and capybaras on the banks. With flashlights, we will explore the banks in search of these animals and also herons. At the end, we will have our Amazonian dinner.
DAY 2 Sandoval Lake
At 5:00 a.m., we will have breakfast and get ready to visit Lake Sandoval, one of the most beautiful spots in the Tambopata National Reserve, known for its rich biodiversity. We will take a 1 hour and 20 minute boat ride to the entrance of the lake, followed by a 3 kilometer hike to reach this piranha habitat. Then, we will navigate the lake in a rowboat, where we will be able to observe birds and monkeys, such as cormorants, herons, eagles, howler and capuchin monkeys. It will also be possible to see giant otters and caimans. We will return to the lodge at 11:45 a.m. for lunch and, in the evening, we will take a night walk in the forest with flashlights, looking for nocturnal animals and plants, such as night monkeys, frogs, tarantulas, rodents, owls and snakes. Amazonian dinner.
DAY 3 Parrot clay lick and sunrise view
At 5:00 am, we will get ready to witness a unique spectacle of different species of parrots that inhabit the Amazon region. We will embark and depart by land or river, traveling about an hour from our lodge. Upon arrival, we will see a large number of parrots gathered each morning on a clay wall, ready to feed on minerals essential for their diet and detoxification. We will then enjoy a delicious continental breakfast, and have free time until lunch. After lunch, we will take a short break before going to our 30-meter tower, where we will equip ourselves with safety equipment for our zipline activity. Finally, we will have an Amazonian dinner.
DAY 4
Monkey House and Sloth Hunt
We will sail for 30 minutes on the Tambopata River to reach the monkey house, where we will observe various species such as the squirrel monkey, howler monkey and spider monkey, and we will have the opportunity to touch them, feed them and play with them. Then, in the Madre de Dios River, we will look for three-toed sloths in a forest, where we will be able to see between 2 and 5 of them. After returning to the lodge, we will enjoy a continental breakfast before packing up and bidding farewell to the biodiversity of
