On the same route the local tour guides can find up to two types of sloths. +Native Family, in Madre de Dios we have more than 30 native communities divided in 7 ethnic groups; each one with its own idiosyncrasy and way of enjoying the Amazon. In this opportunity we will visit the Machiguenga family to learn about their culture and their relationship with the environment in a global context (1.5 hrs). + Expedition to Sandoval Lake, inside the Tambopata Reserve, we navigate the Madre de Dios River until we reach a trail into the jungle where we walk 3 km or 70 minutes with possible encounters of snakes, squirrels, monkeys; environmental interpretation until we reach the lake, where in a small canoe paddle we will look for boas, black caimans, monkeys, a diversity of birds and hopefully the elusive giant river otters always surrounded by a natural setting. (5 hrs depending on the season). End of activities 6:00 pm approx.
