Description

Day 1: Cusco – Sangarara – Pitumarca – Waqrapukara Get picked up from your hotel in Cusco and head south. Pass through small villages and stop at the Pomacanchi Lagoon for photos. Continue to Sangarara for a delicious breakfast before heading to the community of Pitumarca. Begin your hike to the Waqrapukara archaeological site. Along the way, observe a variety of flora and fauna, including condors, llamas, alpacas, and more. Enjoy the natural surroundings and the company of the Andean people. Arrive at Waqrapukara, set up camp, and enjoy dinner. Day 2: Waqrapukara – Cusco Wake up to a stunning sunrise and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Prepare to explore the majestic Waqrapukara site. Marvel at its enigmatic constructions, including the Moon and Sun enclosures, the Wiracocha enclosure, towers, staircases, the main plaza, double and triple jamb doorways, bastions, buildings, and the majestic Apurimac canyon with its natural rock formations. After exploring Waqrapukara, return to the starting point for a delicious lunch. Begin your walk back to the district of Sangarara and return to Cusco, arriving around 6:30 PM.
