Description
Begin your tour in the Plaza de Trujillo. Visit the strategic points of the Chan Chan Citadel, such as the Huaca Arco Iris, also called Huaca Dragon, considered at the time as a Chimu religious temple.
Next, head to the Chan Chan Site Museum, where you will have a detailed explanation of the pieces and a model that shows the expansion of the Chimu.
Then, explore the Chan Chan Citadel, walk through its squares, which show us reliefs of fish, birds, and one of the main activities: artisanal fishing.
Finally, head to Huanchaco Beach, where local fishermen will explain the use of totora and its importance to them. Also, observe how they still maintain the tradition of artisanal fishing.
