The Metropolitan Museum of Lima is not a conventional museum. Here the showcases have been replaced by audiovisuals, scenographies, and 3D and 4D systems that allow visitors to become travelers through time and explore the history of Lima, in an adventure that transports them 10 thousand years ago and that revives the past.
The museum has a room for temporary exhibitions, the Limaq Gallery located on the first level, in which temporary exhibitions are held linked to the dissemination of the identity of the city of Lima; as well as, samples of its most representative artists of modern and contemporary art. Soon the Museum will enable its spaces to receive the collection of the Ignacio Merino Municipal Pinacoteca.
Exhibit room The museum houses the Library on the second floor with a varied collection of physical and virtual books of the city.
Also, there is a cultural program that offers thematic tours, family film screenings, dance, and oral narration shows, workshops, and activities for families and the general public.
