Description
Your tour begins with hotel pickup in downtown Puno. You will transfer to the Lake Titicaca port and board a speedboat to the Uros Floating Islands, a 30-minute ride. These islands are built entirely from totora reeds.
On arrival, meet the local Uros people and learn about their way of life, traditions, and island construction. You can opt for a traditional totora reed boat ride.
Next, continue by boat for 1.5 hours to Taquile Island. Upon landing, take a moderate hike to the main village to explore the island’s social structure and UNESCO-recognized textile arts. Enjoy a typical lunch featuring trout or quinoa at a communal restaurant.
After lunch, you will have free time to explore or shop for local crafts before returning by boat to Puno, arriving late afternoon for your hotel drop-off.
