Puno: 2-Day Kayak to Uros and Amantani Island Overnight Stay

Description

After a 7:30 AM pick-up from your hotel you will be taken to the local pier to start the ride by kayak to the floating islands. Before embarking you will be informed about all the safety instructions for the activity by your local instructor and guide. Then set out to explore Lake Titicaca in a different way, viewing the local flora and fauna (flamingos, ducks, greeve, coots) up close. Your guide will provide information on what you see as you progress. Upon arrival at the floating islands your guide will tell stories about their origins and the methods this amazing tribe uses to create them out of reeds. You will have leisure time to explore the island on your own and take pictures. Then by covered motor-boat ride to Amantani island. On the way enjoy views of the Andes and Lake Titicaca. At Amantani island the guide will introduce you to the local host family and they will take you to the house to enjoy a delicious lunch prepared with local products. In the afternoon you will have the chance to climb to the 'Pachatata' mountain and see spectacular views of the sunset from the lake. At night a welcome show will be performed for you at the local meeting room. Dinner will be provided by the local family. In the morning enjoy breakfast with the host family before the ride to Taquile island to meet with the community who are known as the best weavers in the region (hiking required). Then its time for lunch in a local restaurant. Return to Puno city by 15:30 PM for transfer to your hotel.

• Kayaks are closed with no risk of getting wet (no necessary waterproof clothes)
• The lake is guaranteed to be calm
• The name of your hotel in Puno city is required to contact you the night before
• The following hotels require extra cost or prior coordination: Jose Antonio Hoteles, Mirador del Titicaca. Some hotels located 2.5 kilometers from downtown could not be listed, if so the pick-up could not be included. Please contact the tour operator to let you know if so
