One of the best fine dining experiences I had in my life. We did the tasting menu without any drink or alcohol pairings. I think it was a good choice . It was more than enough food and everything was a piece of art visually and in terms of taste. We received the flan as a gift to celebrate my birthday. It was the best flan I had in my life. Service was amazing. Definitely worth it.
Food execution was good. Some flavour combinations weren't as balanced as one would expect. Based on the dish name it was intentionally lime forward, however execution was too much. The wine availability was exceptional and knowledgeable sommelier. The only issue was service - the attention to detail wasn't there and unwritten rules of fine dining weren't followed. With improved service place would score two Michelin stars, at the moment it would be one Michelin star
Merito is one of very few restaurants which is a true dining EXPERIENCE. The flavors, the textures and the presentations are exciting and vibrant. I was kept on the edge of my seat eager to be rewarded by the magic that would appear next. As a gluten free diner I was greatly impressed with the gluten free bread that was obviously baked with love and appreciation for those of us that cannot usually indulge in the staff of life. This was the best gluten free bread I have ever eaten and such a treat after eating pan that has the consistency of cardboard for way too many years. Thank you Merito for a bread that brought tears of joy to my eyes. I am not a lover of trout but the trout served was so magnificent that I might have to re-classify my food aversions. Truly splendid. The tumba melon dessert, literally melted in your mouth, and was smooth and unforgettable. I have never tasted anything like it before nor since. A little bit of heaven for sure. So many wonderful courses on the fixed prix menu and not enough time to describe each. But I will say that there was not one single disappointment the entire meal a feat which most restaurants are unable to match.
On of the best dining experience ever! We enjoyed it so much. Every course was excellent and tasty, I can not understand any bad review. But of course, it's all about the own taste. We really were more than satisfied with the presentation and flavours of each dish. Friendly and attentive crew, good wine list. Thanks for this amazing dinner!
I thought the 11 course tasting menu for US$240 was fantastic. Several dishes rocked my world: Wagyu dumplings, their interpretation of cornbread, Carmel flan, coconut fluffy ice cream / lemon desert. It was new and unusual! The servers were wonderful. The interior was perfectly decorated. The meal was about 2h long and did not feel too fast or too slow! I have done a few tasting menus, and for what fine dining is worth, this one felt like a great value experience. They rotate the menu, and if I am back in Lima I would be super curious to try the experience again!! It was that good! The small thing I wished for was more a story behind “why” the ingredients and how it really ties to Peruvian and Venezuelan traditions
