Description
The Historical Sanctuary of the Pampa de Ayacucho is an emblematic place in the history of our country and is part of the System of Natural Protected Areas of the State. This site not only preserves the memory of the historic Battle of Ayacucho, but also a rich diversity of flora and fauna that make it invaluable for conservation. Our excursion will start from the meeting point at the Plaza de Armas of Ayacucho, departing at 9:00 am. First, we will head to the archaeological complex of Wari, where we will explore the site museum, the main temple and other cultural sectors that offer us a fascinating insight into the ancient Wari civilization. We will continue our tour to the pottery workshops, where we will learn about the traditional techniques and the cultural importance of this craft for the local community. Then, we will visit the Capitulation House in the picturesque village of Quinua, another key point in the history of Ayacucho and witness to important events during Peru's independence. Finally, we will head to the Historical Sanctuary of the Pampa de Ayacucho, where we will have the opportunity to explore this protected space and learn more about the Battle of Ayacucho, a decisive event that marked the end of Spanish rule in South America. After our guided tours, we will return to the vehicle to start our return trip to Ayacucho, arriving at around 2:30 pm.
