While I truly wish we could have eaten inside this adorable and cozy little Italian restaurant, our schedule was just too busy. Having said that, after reading all of the great reviews, we were still determined not to miss it and decided to get take-out on our last night in Arequipa. What a wonderful treat! All of the food was delicious. Even the desserts were decorated with the sweetest little flowers. While it's a bit tucked away, it's worth the effort to seek out this wonderful little restaurant!
Incredible recommendation from a friend. Top notch food, friendly staff and fair price for the quality of the food and location. Can’t wait to come back. Only cons being a couple of influencers there with blinding flood lights dancing in front of their phones and waving cocktails around but not even drinking them. I wish special places like this would put a stop to these sorts of activities that ruin an atmosphere.
The atmosphere is incredibly authentic, with great attention to detail that really elevates the whole experience. The food is absolutely delicious—every dish was rich in flavor, fresh, and perfectly executed. The pasta is amazing and the sauces taste homemade. The service is friendly and professional, which just adds to it all. Definitely a place worth coming back to.
such an unreal restaurant with a lovely cosy but buzzing atmosphere. i had everything that was recommended to me and it was beyond delicious. the carbonara was the perfect portion size and was just what i needed. for dessert i had tiramisu which was possibly one of the best tiramisu i’ve ever had and was so creamy and rich. props to fransisco my waiter who did an excellent job, was so welcoming and helpful with recommendations. thankyou !!
Il Caffè Della Nonna is a cozy little spot tucked away behind some shops on the Plaza de Armas, and it feels like a hidden escape right in the center of Arequipa. Despite being so close to the main square, it is surprisingly quiet and relaxed. The setting is beautiful, with stone walls, soft lighting, and a warm atmosphere that feels intimate rather than touristy. It is the kind of place where you want to slow down and actually enjoy your meal instead of rushing through it. The Italian food here is excellent. We had the lasagna ossobuco, and it was genuinely amazing. Rich, comforting, and full of flavor, with tender meat and a perfectly baked top. It comes with really good garlic bread, which paired perfectly with the dish and was clearly made fresh. Everything tasted thoughtful and well prepared. If you are looking for a calm, cozy dinner spot with high quality Italian food right in the heart of Arequipa, this place is absolutely worth seeking out.
