If you're coming straight from California and suspicious of how good Ramen could really be so far up in the mountains, stop reading and check this place out. This place is not here to give you a "traditional" take on any of their dishes. Instead, it clearly puts the Peruvian influence front and center with every dish. For example, the main character of the nigiri wasn't even the fish or the rice, but the chef's sauces. The fried rice was _spectacular_, but again a creamy rocoto sauce stole the day. 11/10
Make reservation or be at 6 on time. Excellent food and have quality control for fish.
An amazing restaurant with an insane variety of vegetarian options. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with a lot of care. But what really made the experience stand out was the waitress. That level of service really elevates the whole experience. Definitely a place worth coming back to! I had the vegetarian ramen which I definitely recommend!!!
If it comes to the taste of the food the place gets a 4 star. I loved the taste of the ramen and my husband had the tofu bao and he said it was good. The bao could do with some more sauce. The ramen was flavorful, the crispy pork just perfect and delicious. The ingredients for the ramen said bok choy, it had 1 bok choy leaf, yes just 1 tiny wilted bok choy leaf! Wish it had a few more bok choy leaves! Unless bok choy is very expensive in Huaraz, there's no reason to put one tiny leaf in a bowl of ramen! They only take cash and NO credit cards. This is very surprising as even small hole in the wall stores and restaurants all over Peru accept cc. So plan accordingly. The other thing is they have an open kitchen and the space is smallish, all my clothes are stinking of sesame oil and nikkei food. I have to put my clothes for a wash each time I visit this restaurant. I don't want to wake up the next morning and wear clothes smelling of fried food. Also, there is no wifi, so for tourists this can be a challenge. Most tiny establishments in Huaraz offer wifi. These are the few reasons why I've given them a 3 star instead of a five. But the ramen is tasty and worth going back for in Huaraz, I will go back for the food.
Massive fan of this resto. Though pricier than others, the food is excellent and of very high quality. Would particularly like to highlight the dessert: it was really well done. The rice pudding was perfectly cooked, and covered in the croquette shell, giving you a lovely sensation on every bite. Of course, on it’s own, such a combination might be a bit too much which is where the balancing act comes in: the chicha morada (purple corn drink) sauce gives another dimension to rhe dish, and the lime zest sprinkled over makes all the individual components shine.
