Peru receives four awards at the 2018 World Travel Awards South America

The ceremony was held in the historic Crystal Palace of the city of Guayaquil, in Ecuador, and was attended by leading industry experts, as well as international media. Peru was awarded in the following categories:
  • Best Culinary Destination in South America
  • Best Cultural Destination in South America
  • Best Tourist Attraction in South America: Machu Picchu.
 
In addition, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism - PROMPERÚ, won the award for Best Tourism Office in South America for the third consecutive year. “These triumphs are a joy for us, as they show the articulated work between the public and private sectors, in addition to putting our country in value in the eyes of the world, consolidating us as a destination full of history, culture, nature and delicious cuisine recognized globally, ”said Marisol Acosta, director of Tourism at PROMPERÚ.


PROMPERU 

The winners of the South American edition will compete in the world edition, which will be held on December 1 in Portugal and in which our country is nominated in three additional categories: Best Tourism Website: Peru.travel, Best Green Destination and Best Destination of Short Holidays ('City Break Destination'): Lima.
