We had an amazing stay at Maimara. The owners Jaime and Piero were so helpful and kind. Señor Jaime saved my life and took me to the hospital when I was gravely ill. The breakfast was delicious and wonderful every morning. I would absolutely recommend staying here during your stay in Huaraz if you want to be somewhere comfortable, clean and safe.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Huaraz. The room was spacious, very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. After a long day of hiking, it was the perfect place to relax and recover. Housekeeping did a great job every day by refreshing the room, replacing towels, and making the bed without unnecessarily moving our belongings around, which we really appreciated. The breakfast was good and had everything we needed to start the day. A special mention for the breakfast-to-go option: whenever we had to leave early for a tour, they prepared a breakfast package for us, which was incredibly helpful. The staff were always friendly and welcoming. It seems to be a family-run hotel, which gives it a very personal and warm atmosphere. Aldo was especially helpful throughout our stay, always answering our questions and doing his best to assist us with anything we needed. The hotel also felt safe and secure during our stay. Another convenient bonus is the small shop right next door, where you can buy basic essentials and snacks. The only minor issue was that getting hot water in the shower sometimes required a bit of patience, depending on whether the system was running on the heater or the solar boiler. However, whenever we mentioned it, it was addressed immediately, so it never became a real problem. The location is a bit far from the city center, which can be a downside if you want to be within walking distance of everything. That said, it also means the area is much quieter and more relaxing. The neighborhood itself is not the nicest part of town, but that is obviously not something the hotel can control and it never affected our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return. A great place to stay, especially if you’re in Huaraz for hiking and want a comfortable place to recharge afterwards.

There is probably not enough room in this box to describe what a wonderful experience all of our stays here have been! We have stayed here a half dozen times and every time is a warm welcome and wonderful stay! Family owned and operated, reasonably priced and spectacular views from the rooftop restaurant where a delicious and fresh breakfast is served daily! English is spoken by one of the owners, and they truly go above and beyond to make you feel safe, secure and welcome. Can't imagine staying anywhere else!
