We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Carhuaz, and I highly recommend it for anyone planning to explore Huascarán National Park. Its location is perfect for accessing the main attractions while enjoying the peace and quiet of the surrounding area. The highlight of our stay was definitely the breakfast. It is lovingly prepared by the owners using fresh, natural ingredients from the region. Everything was delicious, homemade, and a great way to start the day before heading out on the tours. The accommodation itself is very peaceful, making it easy to relax after a full day of exploring. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the rooms provide everything needed for a restful night’s sleep. The owners are warm, welcoming, and clearly take pride in offering a memorable experience. If you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable place with outstanding homemade breakfast and easy access to Huascarán National Park, this hotel is an excellent choice.
My wife and I stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! From the start, we received a warm welcome with coca tea and we felt at home. They have comfortable accommodation, stunning views of Huascaran and Copa, and a filling and delicious breakfast. But most of all, we enjoyed the kindness of our hosts, and the conversations we shared! Thank you for everything!
We stayed at Runaway Hotel in Acopampa for three nights in January and had a great experience. The weather during our stay was lovely, and the views of the surrounding mountains were beautiful. Our room was simple but comfortable and well kept. We especially appreciated having a kettle with hot water for coca tea, which was helpful for adjusting to the altitude. The food was very reasonably priced, and we particularly enjoyed the homemade bread at breakfast. The location was quiet and peaceful while still being well located for hikes and other outings, and the owners were warm and welcoming, with just the right number of animals on the property, including an alpaca, some geese, and rabbits. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and happily recommend the hotel.
Had a wonderful stay at the Runaway. Clean, comfortable rooms and fantastic hosts who were always available with everything we needed to know about the local area, hiking and trekking options. The highlight of our stay in Ancash! Can’t wait to return.
The owners of this peaceful place are truly wonderful! They were very helpful, generous, and caring, even taking the time to order in pizza for us, call us a taxi, etc. The breakfasts were really good with freshly baked breads, fruits, teas and coffee and we ordered omelets each morning that were really delicious. We loved sitting on the balcony taking in the view of the mountains while sipping tea and watching the animals down below.
