Kishor and Jessica are amazing hosts! I would highly recommend visiting as it is a lovely location and all the proceeds go towards supporting the dog shelter where so many beautiful dogs are well looked after!
A place I highly recommend! The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming, and their pizzas are absolutely delicious. The lodge is also perfectly located for exploring the amazing hikes around Carhuaz. One of the best things about staying here is that the lodge helps support the dog rescue on the property. By choosing to stay here, you’re directly contributing to the care of the dogs while enjoying a wonderful place to stay. A truly meaningful initiative!
This place is amazing. Its a dog shelter as well. I dont really like dogs too much but I wanted to take one home with me. The hosts are amazingly kind and we were so well taken care of. The homecooked breakfast by Jessica (host) was amazing and the accommodations were fantastic as well. The pizza we ate there was comparable to pizza we ate in Naples. We hope to return with friends and family very soon. Probably the best pizza Ive ever eaten I think. Kishor (host) made 26 pizzas for us and the dog shelter volunteers, who were also very nice people from all over the world.
I spent New Year 2026 at Samana Lodge and had a truly beautiful experience. The New Year’s Eve dinner was lovely, and the owners, Jessica and her husband, were incredibly warm, kind, and attentive. Even though Samana Lodge is perfect for families, I traveled solo, and thanks to the owners and the volunteers, I felt truly welcomed and part of everything. They also gave me great suggestions and tips while I was doing my route on my own, which really helped me enjoy my trip around Huaraz much more. The breakfasts are amazing, delicious and very complete… and the pizza night was unforgettable. I highly recommend Samana Lodge for its warmth, care, and genuine hospitality.
