Description
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Arequipa. Head to the Chilina Valley, where you’ll stop to admire breathtaking views of the volcanoes, the Chili River, and pre-Inca terraces.
Arrive at the climbing site and receive a safety briefing. Then, spend 3 hours climbing, starting with easy routes and progressing to more challenging ones. The rock offers many options suitable for different skill levels, so you can focus on enjoying nature in this highly recommended half-day experience.
After climbing, return to the city center. Take a break for lunch (not included) before heading to your next activity.
In the afternoon, make your way to the Hotel Casa de Ávila, located just four blocks from Arequipa’s main square. After meeting the other participants, head to the outdoor kitchen in the hotel’s tranquil garden, an ideal setting to immerse yourself in Peruvian culture.
Receive aprons and hats from your bilingual instructor, then prepare the ingredients for the selected menu. No need to take notes, as you’ll receive a digital recipe book after the class. Get ready to chop, peel, and season under the guidance of your instructor.
Prepare each dish step by step, learning techniques and tips, including suitable substitutions for ingredients you can use at home. Once the cooking is done, take your time to plate and decorate your dishes, perfect for a photo-worthy moment to remember your creation.
Then comes the best part: sit down to enjoy the delicious food you prepared, along with your group. Water and refreshing chicha morada (a traditional non-alcoholic drink made from purple corn) are included. To enhance your experience, you can add a pisco sour class or a wine tasting, both available to book in advance or on the day of the class.
After the session, receive the complete recipe book by email so you can recreate the dishes at home and share your new culinary skills. This experience is more than a cooking class: it’s a cultural journey through food, flavors, and tradition. Perfect for travelers, food lovers, and anyone who wants to experience the heart of Peru in a fun and memorable way.
