Description

The coffee tour in Cusco is a sensory and cultural experience that connects you with the coffee heart of the Convention Valley. On this day trip, you'll dive into the artisanal process of Peruvian coffee with local families, surrounded by nature, vibrant traditions, and the stunning landscapes of the Cusco highlands. The adventure kicks off super early with a pick-up from your hotel (3:30 - 4:00 am) to head to Abra Málaga, cruising through the stunning Sacred Valley. After stopping at the viewpoint at 4,200 meters above sea level, we'll head down to a coffee farm in Huayopata. There, you'll dive into the world of coffee: from checking out the crops to enjoying a local breakfast and getting hands-on with the artisanal process of harvesting, pulping, drying, roasting, and grinding. You'll enjoy a guided tasting of the coffee you helped make, followed by a homemade lunch with local ingredients. We'll head back to Cusco between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., wrapping up an authentic, educational day full of history. This tour is perfect for coffee lovers and travelers looking for a sustainable and meaningful experience. Here's the itinerary: Pick-up at your hotel or Airbnb Our transport will pick you up between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m., depending on where you're staying (hotels or Airbnbs in the historic center of Cusco). Trip to the Sacred Valley – Abra Málaga We'll travel about 2 hours by tourist transport to Abra Málaga, where we'll make a short stop to check out the scenery and get an intro from the guide. Arrival at the coffee farm We'll head to the farm in the heart of the coffee zone, where our immersive experience kicks off. Coffee plot tour Our local guide will show us the crops and explain the production process from the plant to the cup. Typical local breakfast We're enjoying a nutritious breakfast made with fresh local produce, perfect for kicking off the day with energy. Coffee-making process We're actively involved in the different stages: Harvesting the beans Pulping and washing Artisanal drying Roasted and ground Tasting the coffee you made yourself Traditional lunch We're sharing a typical lunch with local products, prepared by the families who work on the farm. Back to Cusco After the experience, we head back to Cusco. Arrival at your place You'll arrive between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. That's the end of our service.
