Description

Day 1: Cusco - Santa Teresa - Hidroelectrica - Aguas Calientes At 6:30 am, we will pick you up to start our scenic drive to Ollantaytambo. We will enjoy panoramic views and make a brief stop on the way. Then, we will cross the 'Abra de Malaga' at 4316 m altitude, with spectacular scenery and the opportunity to see local llamas and alpacas. We will descend into the jungle, passing through different microclimates until we reach Santa Maria at 1575 m altitude, where we will have a break. We will continue to Santa Teresa for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will walk approximately 2 hours to Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu village), where we will spend the night in a hotel. Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco You will wake up at 4:30 a.m. to ascend the steep trail to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, which will take approximately 1.5 hours, allowing you to witness the sunrise. Afterwards, you will enjoy a private tour with a guide for about 2 hours. After the tour, you will have free time until approximately 12:00 noon, recommended time to return to Hidroeléctrica and take the bus back to Cusco. We estimate to arrive in Cusco around 21:30 hours.
