Welcome to Cacao Center, located in the heart of Puerto Maldonado, is our conservation center, organic coffee shop, chocolate shop and restaurant. In our experience taste fresh exotic fruits from our farm, including cacao fruit! - Learn the process of transforming cacao beans into chocolate. Roast, peel and grind your own selection of cacao beans while learning about the secrets of good artisan chocolate and the rich cultural history. - Refine your chocolate in our special cocoa grinder and witness the texture transform. While you wait for your cacao to harden, make and enjoy pisco sours with us! We will also sample various chocolates from our own house. Finally, go home with your own DIY chocolate bar and a whole new perspective on cacao, most importantly, the relationship between cacao and preservation, and how to use your choice of consumption to change the world of chocolate with us one bar at a time. Other things to note: Please let us know your language and dietary restrictions in advance, so we can accommodate. The entire process takes approximately 3 hours. Thank you!
