Description
Day 1: Cusco – Calca – Huaran – Canchacancha We will pick them up early to start the walk along a path that will take us to the community of Canchacancha. After 3 hours of walking we will stop at a strategic point where we will have lunch to replenish energy, after eating we will walk 2 hours to the community of Canchacancha. Here we will set up our camp around 5:00 p.m., at night we will have a delicious dinner around 7:00 p.m., you will be able to enjoy a clear sky full of stars. Day 2: Canchacancha – Pachacutec pass – Lake Coyalayo – Quiswarani The second day we will arrive to the Abra Pachacutec Mountain pass, which is more than 4400 meters above sea level. In the place we will enjoy impressive views of the lagoons of the valley. Then we will have a delicious lunch to recharge our batteries and continue the walk downhill to Quiswarani, a community dedicated to textiles from where we will continue uphill towards the beautiful Queuñaqocha Lagoon where we will set up camp. Day 3: Quiswarani – Lares Hot Springs – Machu Picchu town We will start with a good breakfast to start the walk passing Andean villages until we reach the Willkiccasa Pass, at 4100 meters above sea level. From there we will enjoy impressive views of both sides of the pass, especially the Colquecruz and Pitusiray mountains. Then we will arrive at the community of Cuncani from where we will depart for Lares, the capital of the district of the same name, the main attraction is its hot springs, all of which are optional if you wish to enter. In the afternoon we will take a bus that will take us to Ollantaytambo where a train to Aguas Calientes awaits us. Overnight in a hostel in Aguas Calientes Day 4: Quiswarani – Lares Hot Springs – Machu Picchu town. We will get up very early to have breakfast and then start a meandering walk that will take us to the mythical citadel of Machu Picchu. We will have a guide and then free time to explore the area.
