They say that at least once in your life you have to undertake the famous Ruta del Sol through southern Peru. They say that everyone who makes this journey ends up captivated by the history, landscapes and gastronomy of the Andes. To check whether this statement is true or not, we will meet at the time indicated at number 575 of Jirón Tacna. From this terminal we will depart towards the town of Pukara. What is the legacy of the ancient Andean settlers? We will discover it by visiting the Pukara interpretation center. In addition, this place is home to the famous Pukara bulls, clay figures painted in various colors that are a symbol of protection, prosperity and fertility in southern Peru. From Pukara we will continue towards the La Raya pass, where we will make a brief stop to photograph this breathtaking mountain pass located more than 4,300 meters above sea level. Once we have taken the required photos in La Raya, we will go to a local restaurant to regain our strength with a buffet lunch. After eating we will travel to the well-known archaeological site of Raqchi. In this enclave we will see the remains of the ancient temple of the god Wiracocha, a deity whose veneration in pre-Hispanic times is dotted with numerous enigmas, legends and mysteries. Once the guided tour of the Raqchi archaeological park has concluded, we will go to the town of Andahuaylillas, where we will visit the church of San Pedro Apóstol.
