Description

Day 1: Arequipa - Cabanaconde - Sangalle: You will be picked up from your hotel in Arequipa (03:30 hrs.) to head to the town of Chivay on a 3-hour trip. Upon arrival you will enjoy breakfast to continue the trip to the 'Cruz del Condor' viewpoint from where you will appreciate the most beautiful and deepest canyon in the world: the Colca Canyon. In this place you will also enjoy a great show: flyover of the condors. Afterwards, the trip will continue to Sangalle, the starting point of the walk with spectacular views of the Colca Canyon and cross the Colca River and after 3 hours of walking you will arrive at the town of San Juan de Chuccho where you can rest and have lunch. Then you will resume the walk until you reach the Sangalle Oasis, a beautiful place surrounded by extensive flora. In this place you will enjoy the thermal baths and can spend the night. Day 2: Sangalle - Cabanaconde - Chivay - Arequipa: For this day the walk will begin early in the morning (04:30 hrs) towards the highest part of the canyon, along the way you will enjoy a beautiful sunrise. After 3 hours you will arrive in Cabanaconde for breakfast and then board the tourist transportation back to the White City of Arequipa. During the return trip we will make a brief stop at a beautiful natural viewpoint to observe the Pre-Inca Andenería and we will also visit the Town of Maca. We will arrive at the town of Chivay where you will have free time to enjoy the thermomedicinal baths of La Calera (optional) and enjoy an exquisite lunch. Continuing with the trip we will stop at the volcano viewpoint to appreciate the Chila mountain range, the Ampato volcano and Hualca Hualca; To finish, there will be a last stop at the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve to observe the scenic beauty, flora and fauna of the place. Finally you will return to the city of Arequipa (17:00 hrs).
