Description
This is a unique experience in Lima, filled with art and traditional Amazonian culture. You will be taken to the district of Rímac, where the largest urban indigenous community in the city is located, mostly composed of people from the Shipibo-Konibo ethnicity. This community stands out for its artists and the promotion of their ancestral art. You will be our special guest, entering the home of one of the artists, learning about the meanings of the ancestral Kene, while painting your own canvas with the same natural dyes used in the Amazon. We begin by getting to know each participant, either at their accommodation or at a meeting point. Then, we will take a taxi towards Rímac, located approximately 40 minutes from the Miraflores district. During the journey, we'll share basic information to provide more insight into the indigenous communities of Peru. Specifically, we will discuss the Shipibo-Konibo ethnicity. Upon reaching our destination, you'll witness another social and cultural reality of Lima. After a short walk, we'll enter the home of one of the residents, a place known for preserving and promoting its traditional Amazonian culture. Your participation will be highly interactive; alongside our artist, you will create an indigenous art piece using the same tools and pigments used in the Amazon. After concluding the visit, we'll take you back to your accommodation, or if you prefer, we can drop you off at Lima's Plaza Mayor, just 5 minutes away, allowing you to continue exploring the cityIncludes
